Before the Beatles and the British Invasion were the people and acts who inspired and motivated those to come.
From Mahalia Jackson and Chuck Berry through Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash to the Everly Brothers and Buddy Holly, various styles and rhythms sparked the way American music would challenge the rest of the world to new musical heights.
It is my intention to honor those who came before and enlighten younger generations.

Trying to get info on Frederick Monroe Atwell, Winnie’s dad. Year of death, When did he move to London and where in London did he live. Thanks
I don’t know much about him, but I do know that he was a chemist and married to a nurse. I also know he died in 1958. This is all I could discover. If I find more information, I will pass it your way.
Fascinating site, I check it everyday.
Wow Hal Blaine
He made drums musical . I would say he is just about the best drummer in almost every style there is,,
Robert – Your site is incredible ! I came across it looking for The Shadows music sites. I discovered many Shadows covers involving Swedes. One is called Roger Paulsson. His YouTube video clip includes a photo I took of Bruce Welch, Alan Jones and Hank Marvin at a Shadows conccert in Croydon- October 1987. I could not figure out how he obtained this photo – so curiosity driving, I used Google to search out the photo on the web. The photo led me to your site and your amazing Shadows story. It is referenced “The-Shadows-3.jpg”. I was just part of a group of Shadows fans living in Geneva Switzerland who went to this concert and after a weird series of events, they posed for me on stage for this photo and invited some of the group backstage after the show. The photo was analog at the time, paper print and must have been scanned by one of the fan group who received the photo after our return. I am not looking to sue anyone for copyright – but really just curious as to how this photo got around the world and onto your site & Paulsson’s ??. Anyway – I repeat your site is incredible and your page on my heroes from 1959 (I was 13…) is exceptional. Thank you! Appreciate any info. Alain.
